PRESS RELEASE: Decentralization Research Center Enhances its Advocacy with Key Team Addition

Washington, D.C. — The Decentralization Research Center (DRC), a 501(c)(4) social welfare non-profit that advocates for decentralization as a fundamental characteristic of emerging technologies, today announced the expansion of its team. Kyle Bligen joins the DRC as Head of Policy and Public Affairs, where he will lead the organization’s advocacy before Congress and federal regulators on blockchain policy, digital asset market structure, and the future of artificial intelligence.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Kyle to the DRC team at such a critical moment for the future of emerging technologies,” said DRC Executive Director Connor Spelliscy. “His deep experience at the intersection of policy, finance, and technology will strengthen our ability to engage policymakers and regulators on the issues that matter most to us. Kyle’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that decentralization remains at the center of these conversations.”

Kyle previously served as Senior Director of Financial Policy at the Chamber of Progress, advising leading fintech, cryptocurrency, and web3 firms on legislative and regulatory strategy. Earlier in his career, Kyle was Policy Advisor to a U.S. Representative on the House Financial Services Committee and the Congressional Sustainable Investment Caucus. He has also held roles at Cornerstone Government Affairs, the Department of Defense, the State Department, and the House Homeland Security Committee.

Over the past year, the DRC has expanded its commitment to advocating for decentralized technologies, particularly as new market structure legislation makes its way through Congress. Kyle will be a core asset in this continuing work, and his knowledge, expertise, and networks will enable the DRC to continue to make key contributions to the field of decentralization.
