The Fintech Foundation runs DC Fintech Week to bring regulators, bank and startup executives, academics and nonprofit leaders into the same conversations about where finance goes next. The first two days run as full conference programs, and the last two break into smaller hosted sessions around the city.
Recurring subjects across the week:
Crypto and digital asset regulation
Fintech policy
Open banking
Generative AI in financial services
Cybersecurity
Crowdfunding and access to capital
Among the sessions on Oct. 14 at Amazon HQ2 is "Powering the Digital Economy," presented by the Crypto Council for Innovation's Digital Energy Council, with DRC Executive Director Kyle Bligen on the panel. As AI and digital assets expand, demand for compute and electricity is rising with them, and the panel takes up what that means for energy development, grid capacity and U.S. competitiveness heading into 2027.
